Just released JWildfire V0.51 which I'm really proud to present.

All those problems with starting the application and using wrong settings etc. should now be resolved … because I have created an own JWildfire-dedicated launcher!
To make it even more sweet the JWildfire users group did a contest for creating images which are displayed in the launcher. So you are always welcomed with a nice image :-)
JWildfire V0.51 Launcher by thargor6

Additionally there are about 20 new variations available… most of them are supporting the 3D mode :-)

Complete list of changes:
- created a own JWildfire launcher (as separate application), removed the previously used launcher ("appstart")
- included 15 images from the launcher image voting contest into the launcher
- save/restore the desktop- and window-position and size
- several internal changes to the julia* variations, additionaly those variations now always start with a random power index which may produce even more interesting results in the various random flame generators
- improved the gradient-from-image-creator and fixed a java7-related bug (sorting)
- delete the partially created file if saving of render state fails
- hexnixD, hexaplay3D, popcorn2_3D, cubicLattice_3D, disc3D, cubic3D, roundspher3D, post_spin_z, pre_spin_z, loonie_3D, inflateZ_1 … inflateZ_6, foci_3D, scry_3D and waves2_3D variation by Larry Berlin
- phoenix_julia variation by TyrantWave
- FIXED: saving the render state of flames containing the nBlur variation now works

Just click the "Random flames" button to start playing around and have fun :-)

I'm new to J-Wildfire and I can not figure out how to save the images I make as a .PNG or .JPG file. The only save option available is the supported .flame file for JWF. No .PNG or .JPG file save options are available.
Can you tell me how this is done? Or am I doing something wrong?

If you press the "Render" button a file dialog is presented where you can chose where to save the image. If oyu use the interactive renderer then you use the "Save image" button to save the current image. You can not save the preview image.

It is possible to combine/integrate it with blender ? (The rendering software)

Hmm, currently there are no plans regarding this. Which kind of integration do you have in mind? Some texture-generating-wizard?
I do not work with blender and therefore do not know the interface. But I think fractal flames can fit great (as background or object texture) in 3D renderings.
